In 2001, MDC Properties was selected in a public bidding process by the Village of Hinsdale to renovate and re-tenant the 1899 high-profile single-story train station depot in the center of downtown. MDC entered into a long-term lease with the village and then subsequently subleased the entire building to Cosi, a restaurant chain started in Manhattan. MDC renovated the building roof and exterior and Cosi remodeled the building interior and then opened for business. Cosi remained in occupancy for 13 years until 7/31/14.
