In 1997, MDC secured a long-term lease with an option to purchase the CeeBees Food Store property in downtown Glen Ellyn directly across from the commuter train station depot. MDC and its partner hired an architect and then secured the municipal approvals from the Village of Glen Ellyn for a 39-unit, five-story condominium building (Glenstone) including two first floor retail condominium units. MDC then exercised its option to purchase and subsequently sold the site with all the entitlements fully in place to The Gammonley Group, an established condominium developer, who developed the building. MDC was retained by the Gammonley Group to sell the two first floor commercial condominium units.
