Property Overview

In 2000, MDC and its partner put a 3.3-acre site under contract and secured a long-term lease with Whole Foods Market to occupty a 36,000 sq.ft. building to be built on the site. MDC coordinated securing the approval of the board of the adjacent Lake Hinsdale Tower Condominium Association to revise an existing PUD pertaining to the site, which was adjacent to the front of the condominium building. MDC subsequently sold its interest in the deal to its partner but remained on board to coordinate the development of the project, which broke ground in Sept., 2001 and was turned over to Whole Foods in early 2002 for their interior build-out. Whole Foods opened for business in late 2002.
